The Shaker Museum and Library is located minutes from the Taconic State Parkway and the New York State Thruway in Old Chatham, New York.
Driving Directions From Major Routes
From New York City:
Taconic Parkway north to Rt. 295 exit, follow signs to Rt. 295 east,
left at
Albany Turnpike Road (at green Old Chatham 3 miles sign). In Old
Chatham follow
Rt. 13 one mile west to Shaker Museum Road.
From Boston:
Massachusetts Turnpike to B2 exit, follow signs to Rt. 295 east, left
at Albany
Turnpike Road (at green Old Chatham 2 miles sign). In Old Chatham
follow Rt. 13
one mile west to Shaker Museum Road.
From Albany NY Thruway:
Interstate 90 to exit 11E, right on US 20, right on Rt. 66 south (at
green
bridge). Take a left at the stop sign then take an immediate right onto
Shaker
Museum Road.
From the Town of Kinderhook
Go north on Rt. 9 to Rt. 203 in Valatie. Right on 203-follow main
street through village (DO NOT follow 203 once you are in the village).
Main street turns into Rt. 28A. Follow 28A to Chatham Center (approx.
10 minutes) and at the stop sign turn right onto Rt. 66. You will
immediately go over a red colored metal bridge and then take a left
onto Rt. 13. Follow Rt. 13 to Shaker Museum Road. Go left onto Shaker
Museum Road, the museum is 1/4 mile down on right.
